We were craving something sweet & decided to check out Rocko's ice cream for the first time. You can customize your own taco or choose from one of their many Taco combinations they have on the menu. I decided to create my own and kept it simple with a milk chocolate dip & oreo topping. I love chocolate & really enjoyed this concept of frozen ice cream tacos. There are a few tables inside, but the store is a bit small where it's easier to just order and go. You can find street parking in front of the store, but I didn't see a parking lot designated for that area. This is a place worth coming back to for your sweet tooth cravings
I've been seeing this place all over Yelp and wanted to check out what's the hype with the ice cream tacos. We came on a weekday and had to wait around 10 minutes, so definitely come on a weekday if you want to avoid the wait! The staff were very attentive and let me sample the different ice cream flavors. I ended up getting a tiny taco with honey lavender ice cream and milk chocolate dip. The honey lavender ice cream had a nice floral flavor and wasn't too sweet. The taco was the perfect size for a small dessert and all the flavors went really well together. The place is large with a lot of seats where my friends and I were able to sit, talk, and enjoy our tacos!
Rocco's Ice Cream Tacos is a fun, creative spot where you can customize your own ice cream tacos. The unique concept and variety of options make it a great place for a treat, especially if you're looking for something different from your typical ice cream experience. While I enjoyed my custom creation, I didn't think it was stellar in terms of flavor but could just be because I custom created the wrong flavors. Still, it's a unique dessert destination that's definitely worth a visit. Food: Chocolate Coating: The dark chocolate shell was delicious but hardened very quickly. Personally, I would have preferred a slightly softer chocolate to balance the creamy filling, but it was still tasty. Ice Cream Flavors: I went with vanilla and pistachio. The vanilla was classic and smooth, while the pistachio was flavorful, though it felt a bit heavy after a while. Toppings: I added almonds, which added a nice crunch and went well with the chocolate and ice cream. Overall, the customization options are fantastic, and you can really make a treat that suits your taste! Service: Service was efficient and friendly. The staff walked me through the options, making it easy to customize my taco. They were quick, which was great given the line, and they made sure everything was prepared just right and you can watch them make it in front of you. Ambiance: Rocco's has a fun and casual atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a creative dessert. The vibe is relaxed and playful Rocco's Ice Cream Tacos is a unique and enjoyable spot for ice cream lovers who want to experiment with flavors and textures. I'll definitely be back to try some other flavor combinations!
I thought the idea of ice cream tacos was ridiculous... until I tried one! So unexpectedly delicious and creative. Fun atmosphere. Can't wait to come back! We usually go to Pizza My Heart (park there) for dinner and then walk half a block over to Rockos!
I dream of these ice cream tacos! Such a great spot to bring friends and family. Love the fact we can make our own tacos or there's a menu of great options! Come by, you wont regret it!!
I was so excited to try this place because the idea of an ice cream taco sounds incredible! I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of ice cream options with fun flavors like: pumpkin, pistachio, ube, etc. You can order with the workers or on the tablets at the front. While the menu items looked good, I diy'ed my own. I ordered a tiny taco with pistachio ice cream dipped in dark chocolate topped with pretzels. Because of the size on display I was afraid of the portion but it looks like the ice cream was the perfect amount. It was a little messy because the ice cream went beyond the borders of the waffle taco shell but the flavors were good. It looks like the ice creams are molded to the taco size, once dipped in your choice of chocolate, they're flash frozen with probably liquid nitrogen? From what I observed, then the ice cream is propped into the shell. It was fun to watch the process. The inside was quite spacious with a couple of tables and seats along the window. We sat and ate our tacos inside then moved because of the nice weather. There are times parking spots in front of the location or street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Fun experience overall!
While I was in Santa Clara, I felt like getting dessert, so I stopped by Rocko's since I was intrigued by the gimmick of tacos. However, since they had a sign at the front warning about risks of peanut contamination, I ultimately opted to have ice cream in a cup since it was lowest risk for my allergy. You can get samples and they didn't specify a limit, but the workers were pretty busy, so there was a bit of delay in getting served. I tried the honey lavender, almond choco cherry, and olive oil (it's kinda like sweet cream, but a bit more savory) - all were pretty good. I ultimately got a kids scoop of honey lavender and ube, with dark chocolate dip. I only paid $4.60 which is on the cheaper side for ice cream. The ube was very strong in flavor and I thought it was one of the better ube ice creams I've had, and the honey lavender is sweet while still having a decent amount of lavender flavor. There was only a drizzle of chocolate that made a hardened layer on the ice cream; unfortunately it seems the chocolate is more generous on the taco. I do think the dark chocolate pairs nicely since it's less sweet than the ice cream. Inside the shop there are stools and benches of varying heights and numerous outlets in wall, and there's one bench outside the shop as well. Overall, I felt it was good value for ice cream and I would recommend giving it a try even if you don't want the taco.
We brought some friends here to get their ice cream tacos. My wife and I shared a Regular "The Youngster: Cookies & Cream + Milk Chocolate + Sprinkles. Kid's Scoop of White Mint Chip. My wife enjoyed it. Order via the two kiosks. A few tables to sit at inside.
